Simple Style：First of all, we wish you all the best on your exhibition in ShunDe and Shenzhen. Would you please give brief introduce the photos and themes of this exhibition and other personal projects?首先预祝你在顺德和深圳举办的展览一切顺利。可以简单介绍下这次展览的作品和主题，以及正在进行的几个拍摄项目吗？
李政德：Thanks. The exhibition held in Shunde named The Word Unseen, and in Shenzhen is Red White and Blue.谢谢你。这次展览在顺德是《看不见的世界》，深圳是《红白蓝》。作品阐述如下：

The World Unseen《看不见的世界》
Photography can be the intersection of an instant moment and space; or intersection of a period of time and space. I am fascinated by the moment freeze in the camera as well as I am passionate for camera capture of the time.

Once the scene was framed, shutter released, time would be slipped away into unpredicted fossil of light and shadow on the negatives in those less than a seconds or up to hours exposure period. It presents me a good way to pass my time as a freeman.

Sometimes, I smoke, listen to music, take a walk, and do pushups right in front of camera. In the frames, from time to time, there are cars passed, dogs passed, cats passed, and people come to pee and leave…However, all these movements leave no trace on negatives, just like most lives have been there before, yet with no evidence.

Most of the time, I only sit by the tripod staying in the moment.

照片可以是一瞬间与空间的交集，也可以是一段时间与空间的交集。我着迷于摄影一瞬间的定格也钟爱一段时间的捕获。
场景一旦框定，快门开启，透过镜头，在少则几十秒多则一个多小时的曝光里，时间流逝成底片上无法预见的光影化石。无所事事的我，也藉此打发掉自己的一段时光。
偶尔我也会跑到在镜头前面抽烟，听音乐，散步，做俯卧撑。画面中不时有车路过，有狗路过，有猫路过，有人进来撒尿然后离去……而这运动的一切不会在底片上留下一点痕迹。如同大多数生命曾经来过，只是证据虚无。
更多的时候，我坐在脚架旁发呆。

Red White and Blue《红白蓝》
Red, white and blue canvas has appeared in Hong Kong earlier than 1950s. At first, they were used to protect the big-sized external wall or used by the residents living in wooden-house neighborhood to protect from bad weather. Until early period in 1960s, the red white and blue plastic bags that remodeled from the canvas were becoming widely used in daily life.

With the beginning of Chinese Economic Reform, the red, white and blue canvas began to spread into China mainland. And as the acceleration of urbanization, the three colors of red, white and blue filled out Chinese people’s dairy life. The ubiquitous colors have become the ground color of China.

The ongoing projects are too much to introduce one by one. There is one particular that I most desire to complete, From Zijiang River To Yangtze River. It is a memory of a water trip in my boyhood.

早于1950年代，香港已有红白蓝帆布的存在，原为保护大外墙或木屋区居民作为阻挡风雨之用。直到1960年代初期，这种红白蓝帆布改造的红白蓝胶袋，才广泛运用在日常生活中。
随着中国的经济改革开始，红白蓝帆布开始传入中国大陆地区，随着城市化急剧加速，红白蓝三色填满了中国人的日常生活。无处不在的红白蓝已经成为中国的底色。
正在进行的拍摄太多啦，没法完全介绍。最想完成的是《从资江到长江》。这是我少年时代的一段水上之旅。

Simple Style：What is the best moment of the day? 一天当中最美妙的时刻是？
李政德：Drinking with friends.和朋友喝酒的时候。

Simple Style：Please describe an evolution in your photography works, from the first piece to the present projects.
从你最初的拍摄到现在的一些摄影主题系列，这中间有没有一个变化呢？对于这个转变，你的感受是怎样的？
李政德：It should be when I was a journalist in Guangzhou that I started to do subject photography. At that time I need photograph one bar every week, and took the opportunity to shoot the Guangzhou Nights. Probably the later subject New Chinese was shot in Shenzhen based on that experience. The real change came in 2009 when I became single with no economic pressure any more, and more idling time, shooting was a good way to kill time. With my there cameras rotated, here we are today. The only feeling is that different cameras just like different lovers with distinguish charming. Hope someday I can get more lovers when I become rich.
比较有主题性的拍摄应该是在广州做记者的时候。那时候每周要拍摄一个酒吧，顺便就拍了《羊城夜色》。也许之后在深圳开始的《新国人》就是在这个基础上生发的吧。真正的变化是09年单身后没有了经济压力，无聊的时间也多了，拍照是打发时间的好办法。三个相机换着玩儿，就一直拍到了现在。唯一的感受就是不同的相机是不同的情人，各有味道。希望有一天有钱了，再多找几个情人吧。

Simple Style：Where do you get your inspirations?从哪里获得拍摄灵感？
李政德：When you are take camera out with you, pictures will come to you themselves. There is no need for inspiration when taking pictures.
当你带着相机出门的时候，照片会找到你，照相不需要灵感。

Simple Style：I believe works can reflect the photographer’s temper. Are you used to observing the world with distance in your life, like lighting a cigarette during the time of exposure without any personal comment.
我相信作品能够反映作者的性情。生活中的你是不是对世界也保持着疏离的观察，比如叼根烟、不带评价地等曝光时间过去？
李政德：When you hold your camera, it brings you and the world close on one hand, makes you see more of the picture; on the other hand, the camera pull your away form the world, which makes you observe more sober.
当你拿起相机的时候，一方面相机拉近你和这个世界的距离，你会看到更多。另一方面相机把世界从你面前推开，让你看得更冷静。

Simple Style：In addition to photography, are there other ways for you to record life? What is the special meaning of them?
摄影之外，你还会用哪些方式记录生活？这些方式对你来说有什么不同的意义？
李政德：Sometimes I paint, but painting is not recording. Also, I write diary time to times. I hope I can have a big warehouse so that I could just pick things back to house rather than taking lots pictures.
偶尔画画？但是画画不是记录。有时会写日记。我希望有个大仓库，这样很多照片不用拍，直接把它们捡回来更有趣。

Simple Style：You once wrote “the place we can go back is home, where we can not go back is hometown memory”. How does the hometown affect your life and creation?
你曾说“回得去的是家乡，回不去的是故乡”，故乡是如何影响你的人生与创作的？
李政德：It is lucky for me to grow up in a town among mountains. Do you like Shen Congwen works? Though our town is in the middle of Hunan, I feel the same feeling expressed in Shen Congwen’s words about the hometown in may aspects. Living in this environment, it is easier to get close with the traditional culture. The ancient poet Su Dongpo is my idol. Like him, living in metropolis for a long time, I always bear the mountains and waters in my mind. And the most direct influence of above to my creation perhaps is project From Zijiang River To Yangtze River and Go Home.
很庆幸我长大在一个山里的小镇。你喜欢沈从文吗？虽然是湘中，很多方面和他文字里的感觉很像。生长在这样的环境里，比较容易亲近传统文化吧。苏东坡是我的偶像呢。虽然一直生活在大都市，念念不忘的还是山水之乐。对于创作的影响最直接的可能是拍摄《从资江到长江》、《还乡》。

1. This Ci was composed in the 7th year of the Yuanyou reign (1092).
2. The Ying River: a branch of the Huai River.
3. The promise of retiring is yet to be honor.
4. “The Yellow River bank” was where the brothers met for a drink.
